An 80-year-old man, identified as Dr. Tunde Ojehomon, has been allegedly bathed with substance suspected to be raw acid by his 40-year-old mistress, identified simply as Tina.
The suspect and three others, including her two sons and a nanny, are currently being detained at that Okhoro Division Police Station over the matter.
It was gathered that the action of the suspects were over inheritance and change of contents of Dr. Ojehomon’s Will and sales of properties.
The victim is currently battling to save his life at the hospital as the acid affected his face and body.
Counsel to the family, Jefferson Uwoghiren, confirmed the attack to journalists in Benin, but referred further comments to the police.
He said policemen from the Okhoro Police Division have arrested the suspects.
Tina was said to have had children for the victims but they were not legally married.
When contacted for comments, Edo State Police Commissioner, Haliru Abubakar Gwandu, who declined to comment, said it was an insult for journalists to call him on the phone to confirm news report.
