The court has spoken!

For allegedly bolting with his employer’s N6 million, a security guard, Isah Jubrin, is to cool his heels at an Abuja prison until next date of adjournment.

A Wuse Zone 2 Chief Magistrates’ Court, according to NAN, gave the ruling on Tuesday at the arraignment of Jubrin, 32, who is being tried for a two-count charge of criminal trespass and theft.

He, however, pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutor Christopher Johnson told the court that the complainant, Mr Tajudeen Ahmed of Wuse Zone 3, Abuja, reported the incident at Wuse Police Station on May 26.

Johnson said the complainant and his wife discovered that their security guard had entered their room illegally after returning from a trip.

“The guard took the key to the room from where it was kept, entered the room and stole N6 million cash.

“The money was kept in the room for the ongoing construction of additional duplex in the compound.’’

The prosecutor said the accused had confessed during investigation that he stole the money and handed it over to a man, whose name was given as Daniel Shina of Maitama , Abuja.

The offences contravened Sections 289 and 348 of the Penal Code, Laws of the Federation.

The Senior Magistrate, Mr Teribo Jim, adjourned the case to June 16.
