ENI gas pipeline bombed in Nigeria

In the latest attack by militants of the Niger Delta against Nigeria’s oil and gas installations,  a gas pipeline belonging to Italy’s ENI  have  been blown up.

The attack occurred in Bayelsa state, residents  said.

It was not clear if the sabotage was carried out by the group that calls itself Niger Delta Avengers, already linked with attacks on Shell and Chevron.

The group had given oil companies two weeks to leave the region  and says its aim is to create a sovereign Niger Delta state.
