Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has ordered former political office holders in the state , who made away with vehicles belonging to the state government,  to return them or face the wrath of the law.

The refusal of the former officials  to return the vehicles despite several appeals  has led to the constitution of the Vehicles Recovery Committee by Governor Bello.

The officials were those who served under  Governor Idris Wada.

A day before Bello’s inauguration on 27 January, they vanished with government cars.

Now Bello has empowered the recovery committee to take back the cars to accelerate the smooth running of his administration.

Chairman ‎of the Committee  is Adaidu Akoh, who is also the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties.

The committee comprises of a representative of the Kogi State Ministry of Justice, security agencies and Transportation Officers in the Government House and the Head of Service.

Akoh said the committee has so far recovered seven vehicles from the former appointees.

He urged others to tread the path of honour by willingly returning the vehicles in their possession to the committee to avoid embarrassment from the security agencies.
