Dr Olubunmi Muhammed Balogun, Secretary of Ekiti All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Initiative Forum has drawn the attention of the Federal Ministry of Information to the need to carry Nigerians along about the achievements of government and where it is leading the country.
He said there is no better time than now for the government to keep Nigerians informed about what President Muhammadu Buhari has been able to achieve in terms of peace that was about to elude Nigeria because of Boko Haram insurgency.
In fact, as Balogun put it, the terror group almost took over the entire Northeast under the past administration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). According to Balogun: “If the party was voted back to power, by now I’m very sure Nigeria who are crying that things are very hard under the present government would have known that it is better to have peace to go to bed with little food than to go to bed with full stomach without peace.”
President Buhari, as Balogun argued, “knows that things are very hard and he is working with his team round the clock to make sure things are okay within the shortest time.”
Why the Information Ministry must act now is that not a few Nigerians have started asking, is it the change they voted for? A P C, according to Balogun, “should not wait until they start town hall meetings before they keep Nigerians informed.”
