Governor  Nyesom Wike of Rivers state  has advised the All Progressives Congress (APC) to accept its loss in the attempt to take political power in the state.

Wike made the call in Onne, Eleme Local Government Area, on Thursday, while declaring open a capacity building retreat for state government officials.

He said that APC should embrace the reality that it could not get the power to control the politics and resources of the state.

The governor said his administration was deploying resources effectively to “right the wrongs’’ of the immediate past government in the state.

“The implication of APC’s loss of power is that Rivers will be on the right path of history in terms of development.

“As can be seen, our administration kick-started the revival of the state in several areas immediately after mounting the saddle,’’ he said.

He called on all state government functionaries to key into the administration’s development policies in order to ensure that programmes were diligently implemented.

“As those who form part of the current administration in the state, you should work towards the realisation of set objectives.

“Service delivery is a duty we owe the people; we must all work as a team to ensure that set goals are achieved,’’ he said.
