Late Tunde Oduneye

The lone staff of ace musician, Yinka Ayefele, who died in an auto crash on Saturday night has been revealed. He is Tunde Oduneye.

Thirty-nine year old Oduneye died after one of the trucks conveying musical equipment of Ayefele entered a pot hole along Lagos-Ibadan expressway and swerved off the road into a ditch killing the deceased, one of the Engineering crew aboard, while several others sustained various degrees of injuries.

Oduneye was confirmed dead at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan around 11:00pm on Saturday.

The crashed truck: overturned

The Merry Makers band, in a release signed by David Ajiboye, the Publicist of the band, had been contracted to perform at the wedding ceremony of the daughter of Mr. Olu Amore, a Commissioner of Police before the truck conveying the equipment back to Ibadan had the accident shortly after the old toll plaza at Ogere.

A visibly shocked leader of the band, Ayefele, was consoled by sympathizers at the Accident and Emergency ward of the UCH where injured members of the crew were being treated.

The deceased’s body was  interred in his home town of Ijebu Igbo on Sunday evening. He is survived by a wife and a two-year-old baby.
