MFM FC and Kano Pillars shared the points in the  the well advertised midweek match between them at Agege Stadium in Lagos.

MFM opened scoring in the 28th minute  with a goal by Stanley Okorom.

Okorom  lifted the ball over his marker, controlled the ball and fired into the net. His shot was however helped with a little deflection that gave Pillars’s keeper no chance.

MFM dominated the first 30 minutes of  the game.  Pillars, the visitors from Kano,  responded before the half-time creating several goal chances. But they were kept at bay by MFM’s keeper, Ayeyemi.

Pillars  kept piling pressure in the second half and at one stage laid siege in front of MFM goal area.

In the 63rd minute, Monsuru of MFM brought down Pillar’s Aggrey in the box. The referee wasted no time in awarding a penalty, for  what became Pillars equaliser. The penalty was taken by Rabiu Ali. He did not make any mistakeabout it at all.

The game ended 1-1.

The match under floodlight in Agege lived up to its billing as the two teams entertained the large crowd that came to watch.
