Sambo Dasuki: too many things in his plate

The former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki was given N36 billion by the Jonathan administration in 2014 to build dams.

Any rational being will believe that the former NSA had no business with dams which normally should be the responsibility of either the Ministry of Works or the Ministry of Water Resources.

But in 2014, the zenith  of the locust era of the Goodluck Jonathan presidency, the absurdity was just normal.

The allocation of the huge fund was one of the highlights of the anomalous financial transactions in 2014, pinpointed by the Auditor-general of the Federation, Samuel Ukura.

This is apart from the ignoble embezzlement of N3.3 trillion by  MDAs and the NNPC  supervised by Diezani Alison Madueke.

Among other things, the AGF also said that N2.8 billion was spent for the procurement of hand sanitizers for schools and critical public places, to tackle the Ebola epidemic while N31 billion was spent on procuring fertilizer.

The  National Assembly was also indicted in the AGF’s report. The 7th Senate was said to have spent about N10 billion without raising payment vouchers, a contravention of the nation’s financial policy.
