Nigerian music fans would rather want Brand P-Square in perpetuity.

That summed up their view on the musical twin brothers, in the wake of creeping reality that the brothers have parted ways. The fans expressed huge disappointment.

The reactions of the fans was sequel to the recent release of solo by P-Square-Peter Okoye on You-tube video showing him miming to a song titled “My Eyes’’ without vocals from his twin brother, Paul.

Peter, also on Monday updated his Instagram adding information of his new stage name, Mr. P and contact information of his new manager.

James Folarin, a fan of the P-square, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that he had gone for every P-square tour since his days in junior secondary school.

“I have invested in their shows as a fan and bought their CDs. Why will they just decide to separate like that? They better know that the P-square is a brand that we, the fans love,’’ he said

Jessy Danjuma, a club manager raised concerns over the future of the twin brother.

“These guys are not just family, they are twin. How can they allow money or women to separate them in such a way? It is appalling.

“I know they will struggle because the idea of identical twin that performs together is what attract us to them,’’ Danjuma said.

Frank Idowu, a club DJ said separation of the p-square would mean “doom and end of an era’’

“The guy, (Mr P) has not even released an album to see how the music would be accepted before thinking of going solo.

“I love the twin, so I will pay to attend any of their concerts.

“But if Peter dares to perform without Paul, I will throw my slippers at him from the crowd,’’ Idowu said.

The fans have also taken to social media to express their disappointment over the development.

Trouble broke between the twin brothers after Peter sacked the elder brother, Jude Okoye, as their manager.

Peter apparently did not carry Paul along in taking the decision.
