Dr. Dakuku Adolphus Peterside has assumed duty as the Director General/CEO of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), the agency said in a statement by Lami Tumaka, its head of PR.
The new DG who arrived the NIMASA Head Office on 4 Burma Road Apapa today Tuesday March 15, 2016, immediately went into a closed door meeting with members of Senior Management of the Agency.
Dr. Peterside who observed that he is aware that there are competent hands in the agency also solicited the cooperation of the staff to reposition the Agency for greater productivity.
While noting that he is in NIMASA to serve the nation and humanity, the DG expressed his readiness to partner all stakeholders with a view to positively impact the maritime sector and the Nigerian economy at large.
The Federal Government had on Thursday last week appointed Peterside as the Director General of NIMASA for a four year term.
