The Speaker, Delta House of Assembly, Chief Monday Igbuya, on Saturday joined many dignitaries across Nigeria to mourn the death of the former Governor of the State, Olorogun Felix Ibru.
In a condolence message to the family, made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Asaba, Igbuya described Ibru’s demise as painful.
He lauded Ibru’s great concern for the unity of Nigeria, the growth of democracy and development of Delta.
“Chief Felix Ibru was a former governor, senator, international businessman, philanthropist and politician that gained respect, trust and love of the entire country, he will be greatly missed,” he said.
Igbuya prayed Almighty God to grant the soul of the late politician eternal rest and grant members of the family the strength to bear the loss.
Ibru died on Saturday at the age of 80 after a brief illness.
