Mr. Steve Oronsaye, former head of service has been re-arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a new charge of financial crime.
Oronsaye, who is already facing a N6.2billion pension fraud charge, was arrested at his home in Abuja today.
The new offence is that as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, he obtained money by false pretence from the Central Bank of Nigeria.
He was said to have collected N240million from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Financial Action Task Force in the guise of using the money to assist the Committee.
The money according to the EFCC was collected without the knowledge of other committee members and proceeded to convert the said sum to his personal use.
