Fourteen goats are now in the custody of the Osun State Police Command in Osogbo. Well, loose custody, as they cannot be caged in the cell!.

But to be sure, they will be fed with Nigerian taxpayers money.

They were detained today after the man conveying them in a vehicle abandoned them in Ede.

According to a report by Daily Trust, a team of policemen patrolling Sekonna highway intercepted a red coloured Mitsubishi car conveying the goats.

The policemen sighted the vehicle with registration number XF 467 NND at Sekona junction and in an attempt to stop the vehicle, the driver ran away to evade arrest.

The police team led by Inspector Ajayi Sunday chased the vehicle from Sekona junction to Cemetery Area where the driver parked the vehicle and ran into the bush.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Folasade Odoro while confirming the incident said  the goats were detained as exhibits and that the matter was under investigation.

She said the goats would remain in the police custody until the owners showed up to offer explanation on the suspicious movement of the goats.
