A wave of tsunami has hit the Edo state civil service as Governor Adams Oshiomhole ordered a massive shake-up.

Top among those affected is the State Head of Service (HoS), Mr. Jerry Obazele, who was ordered by the governor to proceed on retirement.

He also ordered the compulsory retirement of the Permanent Secretary in the Information and Communication Technology Agency, Mr Dan Aigbavboa and the suspension of the Director (Software), Edo State Information and Communication Technology Agency, Mr. Toju Onaiwu.

This was announced Tuesday evening in a press statement issued in Benin and signed by Mr. Peter Okhiria, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Oshiomhole.

The statement also directed that “all members of the Edo State Pensions Board to report to the State Civil Service Commission for proper investigation and disciplinary action in accordance with the Civil Service Rules.

“Members of the Pensions Board are advised to steer clear of their offices until investigations are concluded,” the statement directed.

Meanwhile, Governor Adams Oshiomhole has appointed Mrs. Gladys Idahor as the new Head of Service, Edo State.
