Swaziland national team: vows to upset Super Eagles in Port Harcourt
Swaziland national team have vowed to upset Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the second leg of the World Cup Qualifier taking place in Port Harcourt 17 November.
The boast was made Friday after they held the Eagles to a goalless draw, a result that has made Coach Sunday Oliseh dispirited.
” We can’t give excuses because of this or that. I don’t think we brought our A game today. I think some of us took the game easy in the head and when you are on the pitch of play it is too late to wake your head. Obviously we’ll have to find a solution to that on Tuesday,” Oliseh said.
He expressed disappointment about the inability of the misfiring team to beat Swaziland at home. Both teams played a goalless draw.
Nevertheless, he was hopeful that the team would advance to the group round of the World Cup qualifying matches.
He said the goalless draw against Swaziland was not good enough because his intention was to pick a win in the game, adding that the return leg on Tuesday in Port Harcourt will give the Eagles the opportunity to pick the ticket to the next round.
He said the game has given him the opportunity to access some of the players’ ability to fit into the Super Eagles team.
“Our aim is to go and qualify on Tuesday. There’s no question of whether we are playing home or away. We are knowing our players more and more, we are getting to know those that fit into the Super Eagles calibre. We are getting more of a team,” Oliseh said.
Oliseh who looked disturbed because of the performance said he will ignore the boast of the opponent that they will upset the team in Port Harcourt as the team’s target is to qualify to the next level.
” There’s no need to be bragging about what we are going to do, so in four days we are going to play. Who will win will win then,” he said.
