Nigeria’s danger man, Victor Osimhen, the highest goal scorer at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile, has now equalled the goal scoring record in the book, by netting his ninth goal Thursday night.
It came via a penalty on the 83rd, after he was fouled in the box.
Osimhen gingerly tucked the ball in a corner, shooting Nigeria 4-2, against the Mexicans.
FIFA’s record of nine goals in the competition, was set by France’s Florent Sinama Pongolie in 2001 and Ivory Coast’s Souleymane Coulibaly in 2011.
