The Nigerian senate adjourned some minutes before 2pm today, after hearing from just two ministerial nominees, Barrister Adebayo Shittu and Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim.

After trimming the number of nominees to appear before it from eight to three, the Senate adjourned after taking two of them. The third nominee, Professor Claudius Omoyele Daramola was not called.

Khadija, a member of the House of Representatives from Yobe State was made to take a bow after her introduction. Her husband, former governor Abba Ibrahim  is a sitting senator in the upper chambers as well.

But Shittu was made to face a barrage of questions from the senators, lasting over one hour.

After the adjournment, Senate spokesman, Dino Melaye  said that Amaechi would definitely appear Wednesday, along with some other nominees. He said the Senate would make available a programme for the screening.

He also dropped the hint that the confirmation hearing will stretch till next week Wednesday, meaning that the constitution of the Buhari administration cabinet will not come up until the end of next week or first week in November.
