The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has charged Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s new cabinet to be prepared to add great values to Lagos State. Publicity Secretary, APC, Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, in a statement on Sunday said the party saw the appointment of commissioners and special advisers by Ambode as a deserved call to service.

“So we challenge them to put their bests to ensure Lagos is taken far in its insatiable quest for excellence. We believe they are competent and well qualified for their appointments so we expect the best from the commissioners-designate. We are aware that Lagos has set an enviable pace in governance so we believe our new commissioners will key into the template that has so furthered the ends of good and quality governance in Lagos these past 16 years. We charge them to be steadfast and hardworking to ensure there is no lowering of the enviable Lagos standard, which has become a standard in and beyond the country.”

APC, according to him sees all the commissioners-designate as well fulfilled professionals, achievers in their respective spheres of life who will bring their wealth of experience to add to the quest to make Lagos stand out as one of the world’s few mega cities, a state where excellence has come to stay and a mainstay of Nigeria’s economy. “We advise them to be prepared to work hard to, not only sustain the state’s enviable heights but take it to the next level as one of the major cities in the world,” Igbokwe added.

He said while the party congratulated the new commissioners and Special Advisers in Lagos, the party will not fail to remind them that they have a very hard task to sustain the existing standard in Lagos but adding great value to the state as has been the standard in the state for the past 16 years.

“We urge them to be very dedicated in their new and higher callings and ensure that the indices that have placed Lagos at the height of the country’s progress are kept intact. We congratulate them and wish them fruitful and result oriented service to Lagos and the Nigerian nation. We urge the new Commissioners and Special Advisers not to forget the platform ( APC) under which they rose to power, their zones, their constituencies, their LGAs, their wards, and their streets,” he stated.
