Serena Williams marches on in pursuit of her Calendar Grand Slam sweep,after she defeated her sister, Venus in New York Tuesday night.
The world number one took the first set, 6-2, with sister Venus, taking the Second 6-1, Capitalising On Serena ‘ s error – prone play.
In the third set of the quarter-finals, #Serenawilliams raced to a 3-0 lead and never allowed the sister back in the game, closing the 27th match between them, 6-3.
Serena now leads the head to head duel with her sister, 16-11.
She will meet Roberta Vinci in the semi-finals.
