Guinea Bissau’s Prime Minister Baciro Dja said on Wednesday that he would submit his resignation after the Supreme Court ruled that his appointment by President Jose Mario Vaz last month violated the West African nation’s constitution.

“I will draw the political consequences (from the ruling) by drafting my letter of resignation which I will submit to the head of state,” Dja told journalists.

The president had sacked his prime minister,Domingos Simoes Pereira, amidst the peace-making moves by Nigeria, which sent a special envoy, former President Olusegun Obasanjo to the country.
