Burundi opposition leader shot dead

Burundi’s opposition leader Patrice Gahungu is dead.

Gahungu was shot dead on Monday night as he was heading home in the capital Bujumbura, his family told newsmen on Tuesday.

Gahungu was the spokesman of Burundi’s Union for Peace and Development (UPD-Zigamibanga) opposition party.

No further details were given on the incident.
