Former Vice President and a leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar, has said the sudden death of Borno State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha, was not only a loss to his people and family, but also to young politicians in Nigeria.

In a condolence message released by his media office in Abuja on Sunday, 16 August, the former Vice President expressed deep grief at the death of such a vibrant politician, who he said, represented the hopes and aspirations of Nigeria’s generation of new breed politicians.

According to Atiku, the fact that the late Zannah Mustapha was able to prove himself in office in a crisis-ridden state like Borno has reinforced his faith and confidence in the abilities of young Nigerian politicians.

The former Vice President explained that, if given the opportunities, Nigerian youths can prove themselves in every role, adding that the deceased was a perfect and shining example of what young politicians could achieve if given the challenge.

While extending his sympathies to the government, the family and the people of Borno State, former Vice President Abubakar also prayed to Allah to grant external blessings to the soul of the deceased.
