The Ogun State government has lifted the ban on the activities of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria,RTEAN.

The ban was slammed on the union early this year after some internal crisis. Government promptly stepped in and proscribed the Union.

In a statement by the General Manager,Parks and Garages Development Board,PAGADEB,Alhaji Ayo Ogunsolu, the government has approved a 30-man executive that will steer the affairs of the union..

Among those appointed was the incumbent Chairman, Alhaji Mugisu Akinpelu. Mr Akingbade Tiwalade is the Secretary.

Others are; Alhaji Ahmed Kuku, (Aboki) Deputy Chairman,(Admin.), Alhaji Ridwan Lamidi,Deputy Chairman (Operations) and Mr Sulika Rufai, Deputy Chairman (Logistics/Planning) among others.

Ogunsolu pointed out that the development was part of government effort to ensure peace and orderliness in the association.

The Board, according to the release, urged members of the association to work in harmony with the new executive officers, as any contrary motive will be regarded as an affront to the government’s effort at sanitizing the association.
