The Togolese striker is being offloaded by Tottenham Hotspur on a season long loan to Villa, reports said. Villa will get him for nothing, but pay his weekly wage of 100,000 pounds.
The 31-year-old striker took a tour of Villa’s Bodymoor Heath training HQ on Tuesday and had the first stages of his medical.
An announcement is possible in the next 24 hours, Mail Online reported.
For Adebayor, a switch to Villa will be a good opportunity to reunite with his former coach at Spurs, Tim Sherwood.
The latter eyes Adebayor as his No 1 target to replace Christian Benteke.
Adebayor’s arrival at Villa follows that of £8.5m Ghana striker Jordan Ayew and the two could form a partnership.
