Arsenal hit 6million followers on Twitter

Arsenal may have missed the Barclays Premier League title last season, but it is notching up glories elsewhere: in the social media where it appears it is the king of soccer buffs.

The Club has just become the first Premier League club to reach six million followers on Twitter, taking just over six months to climb from five million to six million and consolidating its position as the third most followed sports team in the world on the social network, behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“We are very grateful to Arsenal’s fans for helping us reach this milestone,” said Chris Harris, managing editor (digital) of Arsenal Media Group.
