Justice Samuel Obayomi, a high court judge in the central Nigerian state of Kogi has regained his freedom from kidnappers, 34 days after he was abducted.

State Commissioner for Police, Mr Samuel Ogunjemilusi and the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Nasir Ajanah have confirmed the release, the web site, Informationng.com reports.

Obayomi was released Saturday night between 10:00 and 11:30.

It was not clear whether the family paid ransom to the abductors.

Obayomi, the High Court Judge of Ebogogo in Adavi Local Government of Kogi State was kidnapped on Monday, May 25, at about 8:45 a.m on his way to the office by a three-member gang.

The kidnappers also shot his police orderly Cpl Usman Musa, dead on the spot and demanded N150 million ransom for the judge’s release.
