Tunji Shelle, Chairman of Lagos PDP: sacked

The Lagos State Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has impeached its state chairman, Tunji Shelle, over the party’s failure to win the state in the presidential and governorship elections.

Immediately named as his successor, in acting capacity was Kamal Olorunoje.

Shelle’s removal was announced today at the State’s secretariat of the party, in The GRA, Ikeja.

The action was said to have received the endorsement of all state executives.

The reasons adduced by the State’s PDP for its immediate past Chairman’s sack, included failure of the party during both Presidential and State Governorship Elections as well as the alleged questionable manners he has been running the chapter.

“PDP Chairman sacked” Is this a salaried or elected position?. I will not be surprised if this position unlike every other place in the world is salaried in the “you chop I chop” custom of Nigeria. Otherwise the word will not be sacked. He may be asked to resign or is deposed and another elected in his place but the freaking operative word is not “sacked.” Stop this gutter journalism.
