Lagos has held its Boat Regatta festival, a colourful parade on its aquatic asset.

The festival traditionally precedes the yearly Lagos Carnival, which is now scheduled to hold 2 May. The regatta was held with pomp and pageantry at the usual Oyinkan Abayomi Drive, Ikoyi, venue. Here are some memorable shots by AFP at the event:
