Malam El-rufai defeated the incumbent Governor , Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of the Peoples Democratic Party , thus ending the ruling party’s 16 year- dominance in the state.
The former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory , who addressed journalists at his campaign office shortly after INEC Returning Officer , Professor Ja’afar Kaura announced the governorship election results said the electorate will definitely rip the benefit of voting him and his party APC in the state.
According to him , the people of the state should be rest assured of a decent governance centred on equity, fairness and justice at all levels.
El-Rufai also assured the voters that his government will not tolerate any form of discrimination either on basis of religion, ethnicity, settler or indigine.
” I assure the people that everybody resident in the state will be given equal treatment.”
While reiterating that change has come to stay in Kaduna , El-Rufai said that his administration will equally give priority to security of lives and properties in the state as well as provision of basic amenities.
