Mbu told journalists at INEC Office in Lagos, where the election results were being collated, that whoever emerged winner was the people’s choice.
“We have done our best. I am not in possession of the figures, but I know it was a keen contest,’’ he said.
He said that no arrest was made by the police during the Saturday’s governorship and state assembly polls “because the people were orderly’’.
According to him, few incidents were recorded during the polls but they were minor and did not warrant arrest.
“There is no perfection on earth, but both the people and the security men did well,’’ he said. (NAN)
The two major contestants in the Lagos governorship election are Mr Akinwunmi Ambode of the APC and Mr Jimi Agbaje of the PDP. From results announced in local councils, Ambode has won the election, convincingly.
