Former Paris St. Germain striker Kevin Gameiro scored a late equaliser for Sevilla as Barcelona threw away a two-goal lead in La Liga while Zlatan Ibrahimović scored a brace to help PSG claim the Coupe de la Ligue title in France.

Barcelona began the match at Sevilla after second placed Real Madrid kept up the pressure in the Spanish league title race with a 3-0 win at home to Eibar.

And the Catalan giants began well, with goals from Lionel Messi with a curling effort and Neymar with a free-kick giving the league leaders a 2-0 lead by the half-hour mark.

Midfielder Ever Banega pulled a goal back for Champions League chasing Sevilla with a 37th minute goal, before Gameiro struck with six minutes left in the match to throw a spanner in the wheel of Barça’s title bid.

The result sees Sevilla go level on 62 points with fourth placed Valencia that play on Sunday while Barça’s lead over Real at the top is now cut to two points ahead of their trip to face PSG in a Champions League quarterfinal first leg match.

PSG prepared for that encounter in emphatic manner by clinching a second successive Coupe de la Ligue title with a 4-0 thrashing of Bastia at the Stade de France.

Bastia’s evening was bound to be dim from early on as defender Sebastien Squillaci was sent off, before a brace from Ibrahimović put PSG in a commanding position by half-time.

And any worries of the talismanic Swede being missed when he sits out the Barça match through suspension were eased as substitute Edinson Cavani scored a brace of his in the closing 10 minutes to seal a record fifth Coupe de la Ligue title for the Parisians.

PSG now turn their focus to the UEFA Champions League, one of three more competitions they remain in contention for the title, as Laurent Blanc’s men lead the Ligue 1 table and will face Auxerre in the Coupe de France final in May.
