HawkEye to be Used During Women's World Cup in Canada

World football governing body FIFA has revealed that HawkEye’s goal-line technology would be deployed at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.

HawkEye is already deployed in football by the English Premier League and was first used by FIFA for the 2012 Club World Cup in Japan.

However, FIFA chose to make use of GoalControl’s goal-line technology at last year’s World Cup in Brazil; the first ever World Cup to use the technology.

The 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be the first to comprise 24 competing nations, will commence on June 6 and conclude on July 5.
