A footage showing a set of fans of Premier League club Chelsea being racist toward a man in the Paris metro has surfaced after being leaked to a British newspaper.

The incident, which occured prior to the first leg encounter between Paris St. Germain and Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 that ended in a 1-1 draw on Tuesday, saw the supporters deny the man access to a train.

The supporters are also heard chanting “We’re racist, we’re racist and that’s the way we like it” as they refused the dark-skinned man entry on the train supposedly due to his race.

The Premier League club meanwhile has strongly condemned the those involved in refusing the black man entry on the metro train, stating it would cooperate with authorities in handling the incident.

According to the club’s statement, “Such behaviour is abhorrent and has no place in football or society. We will support any criminal action against those involved.”

The statement from Chelsea added, “should evidence point to involvement of Chelsea season-ticket holders or members the club will take the strongest possible action against them, including banning orders.”

European football’s governing body UEFA is yet to comment on the incident, which comes just days after former Italy boss Arrigo Sacchi made what has been since considered a racist comment toward black players in the Italian youth national team set-up.
