Nigeria’s Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of 13 senior police officers.
One of them, earned the post of Deputy Inspector-General of Police, while two were promoted from commissioner to Assistant Inspectors-General of Police.
There were also 10 Commissioners of Police appointed.
All the promotions followed the recommendation by the Inspector-General of Police, according to Mr Ahmed Mohammed, the Commission’s Head of Press and Public Relations on Thursday.
The statement named the newly promoted DIG and AIGs as Adeola Adeniji and Adenrele Shinaba, who until the promotion is the Commissioner of Police in Kano State, as well as Ikemefuna Okoye.
“The promotion is with immediate effect,’’ the statement noted.
It added that one Assistant Superintendent of Police was elevated to Deputy Superintendent of Police.
