The House-to-House Educational Initiative (H2H), an NGO, has pledged to lead the crusade to promote the values of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, to emerge victorious in the next presidential elections.

This was disclosed at a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday by the National Coordinator of the H2H, Mr Kunle Ehinlanwo.

According to Ehinlanwo, the initiative is the NGO’s modest contribution to national rebirth and a necessity in the nation’s best interest.

Ehinlawo told the news conference that the initial idea of the organization was to support the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in the belief that continuity would better secure Nigeria’s democracy considering its current stage on the democratic ladder. But he said the group was turned off with Jonathan’s not-impressive performance.

“We have consequently decided to throw our support in favour of General Muhammadu Buhari, the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who we are convinced is a better man for the challenging job,” he said.

He said the NGO was formed to promote good governance through national dialogue and intervention on issues of national development by using the tools of sensitisation and awareness as drivers of development.

He said: “In recent times, however, we are beaming the searchlight on political development, to see how we can work with the Nigerian people and other partners to build the nation’s democracy and its processes.

He said the H2H would campaign to canvass votes for the election of Buhari and his running mate ahead of the next general elections and in all nooks and crannies of the nation.

Ehinlanwo said funding for the venture would come from concerned citizens and patriotic volunteers; mobilise Nigerians, particularly the youth; educate people and canvass the election of Buhari.

“We will also work in harmony with the national leadership of the APC and all other organisations, including socio-economic, political and volunteer formations to propagate the ideals of a new era of possibilities.

“These are our convictions and in the days and weeks ahead, you will all see our actions and activities on all we have stated above and we have no doubt that Nigerians will appreciate our patriotic intervention,’’ he said.
