Ogun APC delegates choose House of Reps candidates

The All Progressive Congress,APC House of Representatives primaries are underway in the nine Federal constituencies across the State.

Some of the candidates have already been declared, but election is yet to conclude in a lot of centres.

In the Remo Federal constituency, Olayinka Ganiu Odufuwa, a lawyer has emerged as a consensus candidate, with the rival aspirant, Otunba Adewunmi Onanuga withdrawing at the 11th hour from the race.

The constituency comprises of Ikenne,Sagamu and Remo North local government councils.

The voting in Ijebu Ode to pick the party’s candidate to represent Ijebu-Ode, Odogbolu and Ijebu North east, is still on going as at the time of filing this report and tension is said to be high between supporters of Olugbenga Otenuga, former commissioner for physical planning and Engr. Kunle Ottun, a former adviser to Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

The other aspirants contesting for the Ijebu central constituency are Kehinde Odeneye, the incumbent, Kolapo Korede Osunsanya,Jubril Adewale and Omoba Ademola Okulaja.

Meanwhile, election for the Federal Constituency grouping Ijebu East,Ijebu North and Ogun Waterside local government councils was inconclusive.

The election which was held at the Ijebu East local government secretariat in Ijebu Ife was conducted under tense condition before it was later stopped.

Aspirants for the post are the former deputy Speaker in the State, Hon. (Dr.) Tokunbo Oshin, Dr. Babatunde Ipaye and Mr Femi Durojaiye, son of one of the party leaders in the State and a former Senator, Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye.
