The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries OPEC on Thursday ay at its ongoing 166th Ordinary meeting elected, Nigeria’s Petroleum Minister, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke as President .
She is the first female to be so elected in the 54 year history of the Organisation as conference president.
She was the alternate president for 2014.
She will take over from Abdourhman Ataher Al-Ahirish, Libya’s Vice Prime Minister for Corporations.
