A boost has come to the first university of education in Nigeria, Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun,Ogun State as it emerged the overall winner of this year’s IDEA contest.

The programme was organised by the National Universities Commission,NUC as part of this year’s Entrepreneurship week which was held at the capital city of Nigeria, Abuja between 17 and 21 November, 2014.

Federal University of Agriculture,FUNNAB, Abeokuta came second while Ekiti State University came third respectively.

TASUED, which is celebrating its convocation ceremonies for the 3rd,4th and 5th set, was honoured with the Special award as the “Most Improved University” and “Most Commercial and Noble Idea” awards.

Receiving the trophy on behalf of the institution, the Chairman, Governing Council, Prof. Olufemi Bamiro congratulated the TASUED team for the honour done to the University, while he also applauded them and described the team as ” good ambassadors of the first University of Education in Nigeria.”

Commenting on the victory, the institution Vice Chancellor, Prof.(Mrs.) Oluyemisi Obilade expressed joy and appreciation for the feat.

Obilade however pledged her support to students whose ideas will make the University proud.
