Ebola infected UN employee being treated in Paris

The French Health Ministry announced on Sunday in Paris that a UN employee who contracted Ebola Virus Disease in Sierra Leone has been evacuated to a hospital near Paris for treatment.

The ministry said the patient, who had been working on the Ebola crisis, was transported from Freetown to Begin Military hospital in Saint-Mande, Paris.

The health ministry that gave no details on the identity of the new patient said the patient was brought to France at the request of the World Health Organisation.

The ministry also said that there were no other confirmed cases of Ebola in Sierra Leone, noting that the patient was the second to be treated in France for Ebola.
