*Evans Bipi wants Governor Amaechi to stop attacking President Jonathan
*Bipi was the man who tried to topple speaker of the State Assembly

Evans Bipi,the lawmaker representing the Ogu/Bolo constituency of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Rivers State House of Assembly, warned that in less than eight months, Governor Rotimi Amaechi will answer for all his reckless statements and actions against President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife.

Bipi also sounded a threat to make the state ungovernable should Amaechi fail to desist from his belligerent posture against President Goodluck Jonathan and the first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan.

Bipi who tried unsuccessfully to unseat the Speaker,Otelemaba Dan-Amachree,with other four lawmakers made this known while addressing some selected Journalists in Port Harcourt.

Bipi who was an aide to Mrs Patience Jonathan,said he is reacting to the series of verbal attacks by the governor against President Jonathan and his wife. He accused the Governor of losing all sense of protocol and culture in his actions against the president.

“It is regrettable that Rotimi Amaechi has consistently insulted and disparaged a sitting president and his wife with impunity, in abuse of his immunity as a governor. Last Saturday, the governor demonstrated, in broad day light, an action against the Nigerian State in such a treasonable manner, having lost all sense of protocol and culture.”

Bipi said that his group feel pained that they are constrained to take necessary action against him because of the immunity which he enjoys.

“However, we are encouraged by the fact that his reign as governor of Rivers State would soon come to an end. In less than eight months from now, Amaechi will be made to answer for all his actions against President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan.”

He threatened that wherever Amaechi likes, let him run after his tenure as governor as they will surely get him to answer for all his “libellous utterances, rascality and inciting public disorder against the president and his wife.”

The Lawmaker accused the governor of spending a huge amount on the mega rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC), held in Port Harcourt, on Saturday, alleging that the governor took the money from the N19 billion state fund reserves.

Bipi urged chiefs and leaders of Ubima, Amaechi’s community to prevail on the governor to stop his attacks on the president in order for him to conclude the remaining months of his tenure peacefully.

“Let me warn that we will make the state ungovernable for him, not minding his immunity, if he does not refrain from this irresponsible action on the president and his wife,” Bipi threatened.

This threat follows another by Dr.Reuben Abati,the Spokesman for the President, who warned Amaechi about an impending ‘day of reckoning’.

Mrs Ibim Semenitari, Commissioner for Information and Communications dismissed the accusations against the Governor as untrue and a misrepresentation of facts as the Governor only challenged the Presidency to show what it has done for Rivers people after giving him about 2million votes in 2011.

Semenitari said the verbal stones being hurled at the Governor is a case of giving the dog a bad name to hang him.
