He said that eight persons had approached him formally to be the next governor of the state.

He promised to advise each of the aspirants on the issues of governance, bearing in mind that one person would emerge as the torch bearer in the end.

The governor assured members of the party that his administration would maintain the zoning arrangement put in place by the PDP which had been successful in the state.

He stressed that the policy would not change midway and prayed God for the best candidate to emerge.

“The time has come to tell the home truth without hiding anything any longer.

“We will plead with the PDP members we have offended in the course of our governance but will not condone the anti-party activities of some members,’’ he said.

Earlier, Vice Chairman of PDP in the zone, Alhaji Mamman Gambo, said in spite the anti-party politics exhibited by some party members during the last senatorial election, PDP came out victorious.

He commended Gov. Aliyu for the laudable achievements recorded in the last 7 years of his governance in the state as all wards in the state had projects that bore direct impact on the people.
