A prominent politician in Zimbabwe has been named among the 84 dead in the collapsed guest house in Pastor TB Joshua’s Synagogue, a Zimbabwe newspaper has revealed.

The Zimbabwe Herald reported today that Greenwich Ndanga, a shadow MP in Mashonaland and a top official of the Movement for Democratic Change, had gone to Nigeria on a church business. Ndanga was also a pastor.

Ndanga’s party spokesman, Douglas Mwonzora announced the death.

His family also confirmed it to the newspaper.

Just like South Africans, Zimbabweans also relished consulting TB Joshua, pastor of the Synagogue of All Nations over political/spiritual problems. Last year, Morgan Tsvangirai visited the church in Lagos, after the party suffered a crushing defeat in the hands of President Robert Mugabe’s party.

Many of the dead in the guest house collapse were South Africans. No fewer than 314 of them were set to be at the Church at the time of the incident 12 September.
