AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli is on the brink of completing a move to Premier League club Liverpool after both clubs agreed a £16m fee for the 24-year old Italian international.

A statement on the Milan website read ”Mario Balotelli left Milanello’s sporting centre at 13:30 local time, after saying goodbye to his team-mates,” adding ”Before leaving the premises, the striker has said goodbye to members of Milan’s press office.”

Balotelli, who was linked with a move to Arsenal before the World Cup, joined Milan from reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in January 2013 and has scored 30 goals in 54 apperances for the Italian side.

During his first spell in England with Man. City, Balotelli helped the Citizens win a first league title in over four decades though off-field bust-ups with teammates and infamously then manager Roberto Mancini shrouded his on-field exploits.
