Ikorodu monarch, Oba Oyefusi passes on at 83

The Ayangbure of Ikorodu kingdom, HRH Oba Salaudeen Oyefusi (Oguntade II) has died in a London hospital, a palace source confirmed.

An official statement is yet to be made by the royal house, but the traditional ruler was said to have been ill in the last few months and was admitted at the London hospital where he died on the morning of Saturday.
He was aged 83.

The late monarch, ascended to the Ikorodu throne, an historical town in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city, in 1971 and has ruled for more than four decades.

Oba Oyefusi (Oguntade 11) clocked 83 on July 8.

The royal house is expected to issue a statement on the burial arrangement within a few days.
