Good to see you again: Jonathan pats Emir Sanusi. Is this not sacrilege to greet the Emir this way? State House Photo
Forget the newspaper war about billions of dollars of missing oil money: President Goodluck Jonathan and the former Governor of Central Bank appear to be in talking terms now.
Well, that is what we can gather in these photographs here from State House, Abuja.
On 24 February, 2014, Jonathan suspended Sanusi from his position as Central Bank Governor, four months to the end of his tenure. On June 8, 2014, the Kano State government crowned Sanusi as the Emir of Kano, northern Nigeria’s biggest city. An Emir of Kano is a revered leader in Nigeria and that puts him on a pedestal that President Jonathan could not ignore and there were suspicions that Jonathanians acting at the behest of Aso Villa masterminded protests against Sanusi’s ascension to the throne of Kano Emirate.
But that is now part of the Nigerian folklore.
On Wednesday 23 July, Jonathan and Sanusi met again in Jonathan’s official residence in Abuja.
Sanusi, in company of the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Saa’ad Abubakar and the Emir of Katsina Alh Abdulmmuni Usman visited Aso Rock to break Ramadan Fasting with the President.
Hope they enjoyed their meals!

People are out there ranting while the people the talk about are dinning and sharing jokes and laughing their ass out.
Interesting. They will iron out their differences…. and the country will be the ironing board.
