Bala approves compulsory retirement of 18 officers

Abuja – The FCT Minister, Sen. Bala Mohammed, has approved the compulsory retirement of 18 officers found culpable of age falsification and certificate forgery.

This is contained in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by Mr Muhammad Sule, Chief Press Secretary to the FCT Minister.

The statement said the compulsory retirement was as result of the recent Biometric exercise conducted by the FCT Administration.

It said that the interim report submitted by the Implementation Committee that handled the exercise confirmed 18 cases of age falsification/certificate forgery.

It added that the minister had directed for further clarifications and assessments on 11 officers with pending remarks as well as 59 officers who were yet to respond to queries issued to them.

The statement said the minister had also directed the committee to carry out thorough certificate verification of all staff employed from 2006 to date, including certificates acquired from 2006 by serving officers to date.

It said that the minister had ordered that the salaries of 156 officers that were verified and cleared should be restored with effect from the date their salaries were stopped. (NAN)
