Nigeria’s final 23-man squad list for the 2014 World Cup was revealed this evening, with midfielders Nosa Igiebor, Joel Obi and Ejike Uzoenyi among the players that failed to make the cut.

Among the players named in the 23-man list submitted today to FIFA are Chelsea duo John Mikel Obi and Victor Moses as well as Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, Norwich City defender Joseph Yobo and Stoke City forward Osaze Odemwingie.

Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi, who recently dismissed speculation he is part of a match-fiying syndicate, makes the cut too but Chievo forward Obinna Nsofor has been dropped as has Bastia midfielder Sunday Mba.

Goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim of Gombe United, Kevin Odunlami of Sunshine Stars and Warri Wolves defender Azubuike Egwuekwe are the home-based players who made the final list.

Nigeria have been drawn in Group F of the World Cup alongside Argentina, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iran with the Super Eagles to open their campaign against the Iranians on June 16.

Before then, Nigeria, currently camped in the United States, will face former European champions Greece in a warm-up match Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

The Super Eagles then wrap up their World Cup preparations with a match against the United States on June 8 before heading to Brazil for a fifth World Cup campaign.
