A photograph has gone viral on social media, claimimg that US marines have arrested a member of Boko Haram. That photo is fake.
According to Richard Akinnola, the man in the picture is not a Boko Haram member. “These are French soldiers in Central African Republic rescuing this man about to be lynched. Please disregard all those photographs of alleged US marines arresting Boko member in Maiduguri,” said he.
Recently President Goodluck Jonathan accepted military assistance from the US government to help rescue over 200 school girls abducted by Boko Haram and to help defeat the insurgents.
