NNPC supplies 293.3 Million Litres of Petrol for Easter

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, and its downstream subsidiary the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, PPMC, have injected 293, 326, 011 million litres of premium motor spirit otherwise called petrol into filling stations across the country.

Besides, major and Independent Marketers are scheduled to supply additional 143 million litres into the system.

The Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division of the NNPC, Mr. Ohi Alegbe, stated that the NNPC, Major Marketers Association of Nigeria, MOMAN, Nigeria Independent Petroleum Company, NIPCO, and all other importers of petroleum products are all trucking out petrol from their various marine and inland depots to stabilize supply.

In line with the resolve of the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, to return the country to zero fuel queues at the filling stations across the nation, “the NNPC/PPMC is collaborating with relevant stakeholders in the hydrocarbon value chain to wet the nation with PMS before, during and after the Easter celebration,” Mr. Alegbe said.

According to him, there is approximately 17 days PMS national sufficiency at 40 million litres per day consumption saying efforts is on to build up the stock to guarantee energy sufficiency for the country.

Mr. Alegbe assured that the NNPC is collaborating with other stakeholders to restore normalcy to the fuel supply situation in the country and enjoined motorists and filling station owners to desist from panic buying , hoarding and other sharp practices while wishing Nigerians a happy Easter celebration.
